Planes are not allowed to fly over Lionel Messi's mansion in Barcelona and this has caused serious problems -

Messi's mansion hindering airport expansion in Barcelona. President of El Prat airport, Javier Sanchez-Prieto, has lamented they can not economically grow becasue of Lionel Messi. The airport needed to expand its runways to accommodate more aircrafts as it is one of Europe's busiest hubs.

Messi's house is 10 kilometres away from the airport and planes are restricted to fly above where he lives.
President of a low cost Spanish airline in Barcelona, Javier Sanchez-Prieto, has lamented that the airport could not be expanded because planes are not allowed to fly over Lionel Messi's house .
El Prat airport were hoping to add extra runways to allow more flights to come in and out of the Catalan city as its one of Europe's busiest hubs and airline bosses.
Messi with a host of Barcelona stars lives in an area called Castelldefels and it is a desirable neighbourhood located just 10 kilometres from the airport.
The area has an environmental restriction over it meaning planes are unable to fly above where the Argentinian star lives, despite being on the outskirts of the city.
Sanchez-Prieto said: "The expansion just can't happen because you cannot pass over where Messi lives.
“This doesn’t happen anywhere else in the world.”
Castelldefels is home to several Barcelona players, including Philippe Coutinho who recently bought a house in the area and it is just a 12-mile drive from the Camp Nou.

Messi's teammate, Ivan Rakitic, revealed last month that Messi was so fed up with his neighbours making noise so he bought their house to get some peace and quiet.
"I did not have any problems with the neighbours," he said. "Not like Messi in Castelldefels - he had to buy his house from the neighbours because they were noisy and so he could be alone."
The five Ballon d'Or winner is on course to win another prestigious award if Barcelona win the Champions League this season.
Messi has scored 26 goals in La Liga this term and his recent strike was from a set piece in the 1-1 draw at Las Palmas and the lead at the top has been cut short to just five points.
Messi and co come up against second placed side, Atletico Madrid, and Ernesto Valverde's men will need nothing less but a victory to extend the gap to eight points ahead of the Madrid side.
