Guardiola sympathizes with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. Manchester City gaffer Pep Guardiola has sympathized with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. The ex Barcelona coach stated that he can also be in Wenger's position in the future. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has sympathized with embattled Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger considering the severe criticism the Frenchman is going through at the Emirates Stadium.
The former Barcelona coach stated clearly that he knows how Arsene Wenger feels and accepts he may have to deal with similar flak one day.
Since the Gunners were beaten by Manchester City in the final of the EFL Cup, Wenger has been hit with lots of criticism from pundits and Arsenal fans. There are even reports that Arsenal chiefs are planning to sack the former Monaco boss at the end of the ongoing campaign despite still having a year deal left on his contract.
"I always support my colleagues because we feel the same when we win, when we lose.
"We accept the opinions of the fans and the people and you feel alone. Believe me, you feel alone because there's a lot of pressure on your shoulders.
"I understand completely. I'd like to tell him that I am close, I am on the same side as him. That's why I don't understand when other managers criticize the other managers.
"It's tough to send a message to the other ones from here because everyone understands how you feel when you lose.
"What happened can happen to me in the future. We won, I'm good. Arsene Wenger didn't win so he's not good."
Guardiola was quoted to have said. Meanwhile, Arsenal and Manchester City will meet again in a rearranged Premier League clash at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night, March 1.       Premier League leaders Manchester City were crowned champions of the 2018 EFL Cup after beating Arsenal 3-0 in the final played on Sunday evening, February 25, at the Wembley Stadium.
Manchester City really taught Arsenal good football lesson as they mesmerized the Gunners from the first minute till the last minute of the game at Wembley.
City went into the match with aggressive minds after crashing out of the English FA Cup, but Pep Guardiola's men have now redeemed themselves by winning the EFL Cup.
