Emerson Palmieri has joined Chelsea from Serie A side Roma. The defender has been presented with an ‘Emerson 33’ shirt at the Stamford Bridge club. West Brom have completed the loan signing of Daniel Sturridge from Liverpool. The England striker has joined on loan until the end of the season. Sturridge had been expected to join Newcastle and was due for a medical earlier today before west Brom swooped in. Sturridge is battling to keep his World Cup hopes alive after falling down the pecking order at Liverpool. He has struggled for games this season making just five starts. “This felt like the right fit,” he said. “I’ve got friends here I’ve played with before, the manager spoke very well, the challenge with the team and the style of play. Cesc Fabregas has called out Thibaut Courtois on social media for injuring him in Chelsea training yesterday afternoon. Cesc Fabregas and Thibaut Courtois collided in training today and both required treatment at Chelsea’s Cobham facilities. The Spain international looked to have come off worse and shared on Instagram some photos of his injuries. The midfielder had a cut to his head and an ice pack on his right calf, while Courtois was seen receiving treatment on a bed. And Fabregas was not happy and jokingly captioned the photos, “Thank you Thibaut Courtois” along with a host of emojis. The pictures will make for grim viewing for Chelsea supporters as the pair could now be doubts for Wednesday night’s clash with Bournemouth. LaLiga President, Javier Tebas has confirmed that controversial technology, VAR, will be used in the Spanish top flight from next season. According to Tebas, the LaLiga management are doing everything possible for the technology to arrive on time before the beginning of next season. He said the Spanish league will try their hand at VAR as a bid to eradicate refereeing errors continues. “Next season there will be VAR,” Tebas told Spanish reporters. “We are doing our best and we will ensure it arrives on time. “With the VAR, some moments in the Barcelona and Alaves game, for example, would’ve changed,” he said.
